219. Live, "Lightning Crashes"

February 25 - April 28, 1995

Fun fact: Kowalcyzk slit his wrists and shoved a baby up his ass before recording the vocal, so that his "I can feel it" would sound more authentic.

lightning crashes
a new mother cries
her placenta falls to the floor
the angel opens her eyes

Comments:
Yet somehow this didn't become my senior class song. No, we got Alphaville's "Forever Young", which was released at least ten years prior.

That's the OPENING lyric.

And J.T., "Forever Young" is by far the gayest h.s. song choice I've ever heard of.

You'd think that "forever young" was the worst, but considering that the Cheers theme was nominated, it could've been "worse."

This was also a year that featured several nice, sentimental songs like Seal's "Crazy" and Duran Duran's "Ordinary World."

No dice.

Re Live: The placenta line is a favorite. Growing up on a sheep farm, placentas were falling on floors everywhere during lambing season!
